Getting here

• About 1.5 hours by car from Kansas City and from Kansas City International Airport (MCI).
• The last stretch is gravel road, fine year-round for any car.
• Park on the gravel areas. There is an adjacent shed for bad weather.
• Groceries, gas and essentials are in Carrollton, about 15 minutes away. The nearest amenities are 10+ miles from the farmhouse.

Check-in and check-out

• Check-in is at 4 PM and check-out is at noon.
• Self check-in by keypad. The host sends instructions before arrival.

What to expect

Nature = wild animals and bugs. Some guests find this awesome; others find it a little scary. The farmhouse sits on open acreage down a gravel country road, so nature is right outside the door. Here’s what you can expect, so you can relax and enjoy it.

The animals

• Deer and turkeys are the most common sights around the property.
• Guests have also spotted owls, hawks, rabbits, turtles, and even an eagle.
• Raccoons and coyotes live in the area too. They’re pretty timid and never stick around long when they hear people.
• Never leave food or garbage outside. It’s sure to attract wildlife, so keep all garbage secured inside the house. (It’s one of our house rules.)

The bugs

• Nature also has bugs of all varieties.
• Bug spray and scented candles are in the farmhouse for when you’re outdoors, if you need them.
• Summer nights bring fireflies, the good kind of bug.

Use common sense and you’ll be able to enjoy all the sights and sounds of the farmhouse.

The pond

• The pond is open water with no lifeguard. Children must be supervised near it at all times.

Supplies

• The nearest shops are in Carrollton, about 15 minutes away. Most guests cook in and use the grill, so it’s worth stocking up on the way in.

Cancellation policy

• Standard stays: Guests can cancel at least 24 hours before check-in for a full refund. If canceling after check-in, Host will receive 100% for each night the guest stays, plus one additional night.
• Long-term stays (28 nights or more): Guests must cancel at least 30 days before check-in to receive a full refund.
