Lodging for deer and turkey hunters in north-central Missouri
270 Winchester Lane is a two-bedroom farmhouse near Bogard, about 15 minutes from Carrollton, that works well as lodging for deer and turkey season in north-central Missouri. We host hunters every year, for deer (archery and firearms) and turkey (spring and fall). There’s no hunting on the property itself, but if you have a lease in the area or plan to hunt public ground, you get an extra refrigerator in the garage for your game, a shed for hanging game and storing gear, and room for trucks and trailers.
Set up for hunting season
- Game refrigerator: an extra refrigerator in the garage for your harvested game.
- The shed: hang game, store gear, and park vehicles and UTVs inside.
- Field dressing: game is field dressed where it’s harvested, off the farmhouse property, so it arrives ready for the garage refrigerator or the shed.
- Parking: gravel areas with room for trucks and trailers. Trailers stay outside on the gravel.
After a day in the field
- Two bedrooms, sleeping up to 6
- A full kitchen and a propane gas grill
- A full-size washer and dryer
- Wi-Fi, Roku smart TVs, and central heating and air
- A fire pit for the evening (fires must be out by 11 PM)
- Shoes come off at the door, which keeps the mud outside.
Lodging for deer and turkey season
Missouri’s deer and turkey seasons run on different schedules, and the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) sets the dates, permits and rules every year. Check the official pages before you book:
Fall and the holidays are our busiest time, so if you have dates in mind for deer season, it’s worth booking early.
Hunting off the property: leases and public ground
The farmhouse works best as a base if you:
- have a hunting lease in the area, or
- plan to hunt public ground nearby.
For groceries and gas, Carrollton is about 15 minutes away. If you’re traveling in, Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is about 1.5 hours’ drive. See getting here for directions and parking.
Good to know before you book
- Check-in is at 4 PM and check-out is at noon.
- Maximum 6 guests. RVs, campers and tents are not allowed.
- No pets.
- Keep garbage secured inside the house, because it attracts wildlife.
Before you arrive, read the full house rules and what to expect from the wildlife before you arrive.
More to enjoy
Between hunts, the farmhouse has its own stocked fishing pond (catch and release, guests only) and a quiet, private setting with no houses in sight.
